The Ministry of Interior (MOI) announced that 10 individuals were arrested in Qatar for violating the ban against social gatherings in public places.
“The competent authorities in the Ministry of Interior arrested 10 people who violated the decision to ban gatherings in public places,” MOI added to their twitter account.
The defendants were arrested after the spread of a video clip on social media showing a group of people gathering in the sand dunes area in southern Qatar. The competent authorities reached out to the violators and those who photographed them and they are being referred to the prosecution.
The authorities call upon the general public to strictly follow the decision to prevent gatherings in public places to safeguard themselves and the community.
