The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced that competent authorities arrested ten people for violating the terms and requirements of home quarantine.
The ministry said they have proceeded the cases to prosecution. The home quarantine guidelines are approved by health authorities and are part of precautionary measures to combat coronavirus.
MOPH asks all citizens and residents under home quarantine to adhere to the directions of the authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.
A statement published by the ministry stressed that whoever violates the conditions will expose himself to the penalties stipulated by the provisions of Article 253 of the Penal Code No. 11 of 2004, and the provisions of Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding prevention of infectious diseases, and the Law No. 17 of 2002 on the protection of the society.
