15th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) Showcased Unique Designs by Proficient Craftsmanship
The 15th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2018 (DJWE) opened on February 21, 2018, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). It was held to bring together world-renowned Jewellery and Watches brands and upcoming designers who put forth their sophisticated collection. The exhibition was held from 21 February to 26 February 2018 in the center of West Bay. To promote the local designers, DJWE has partnered with AlBahie, Qatar’s first auction house, to host a charity auction to benefit Education Above All. The exhibition had both new and returning activities to keep the visitors engaged.
The DJWE 2018 first Watches and Jewellery Forum, sponsored by Fifty One East was held on 22 February 2018. The forum shed light on the gemstone and Jewellery industry along with recognizing the local talent. The forum was attended by more than 100 interested participants along with VIPs and international experts, who shared their proficiency with the audience.
Held at the Shangri-la Hotel from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, the forum featured sessions created by famous industry personalities and brands. Bader Abdullah Al-Darwish, Chairman, and Managing Director of Fifty One East, sponsor of the event was also present.
On day 3, huge crowd was witnessed at the exhibition. The day was filled with fun activities and interactive sessions. Attendees attended the complimentary daily fine Jewellery workshop led by master craftsman who showcased the delicate art of Jewellery making. Visitors also became a part of the daily DJWE Majlis Talks which promote discussion between people and local community craftsman.

On 25th February 2018, the MILEstone auction supporting Education Above All (EAA) was held at the exhibition. The auction sold a total of 1,990,000 QAR for Education Above All. EAA is a global movement which contributes to economic, human and social development by providing quality education to all.
The auction was attended by several VIPs who bided on signature jewellery pieces designed by Nada Al Sulaiti (Hairaat); Nouf Al Meer (Nouf Jewellery ), Ghada Al Buainain, Leila Abu Issa (Leila Issam Fine Jewellery ), Shikha Mohamed(Al Ghla Jewellery ), and Jawaher &Hissa Mohammed Al Mannai (Ghand Jewellery). The highest bid was for the Qatar piece by Young Qatari Designer, Nouf Al Meer which auctioned for 400,000 QAR.
Over the past 5 days, Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2018 hosted several activities, events, daily talks and more. Held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the highly-anticipated DJWE 2018 is considered one of the most prestigious and luxurious events on the annual Qatar events calendar.
