For car enthusiasts: you’re in luck, as Jay has reviewed the BMW-8 series and has covered all the details you need to know about this luxurious car. Check out the following video and keep reading for the review.
The BMW 8-Series Coupe dubbed “the gentleman’s racer” is a dream car with outstanding performance and sportiveness. It is highly advanced in lighting, display and technology – paired with driving assistance and connectivity. It was evident with the driving and design, the primary development objective for the new BMW 8-Series Coupe was the breathtaking driving dynamics. The body, powertrain and suspension has achieved supreme agility, precision and poise which is expected from a top-class sports car.
The exterior design is a craft of beautifully blended sporting appeal with an allure resulting in a focused clarity, modern, and charming look.
At first glance, the dramatic design of the front apron and the large air intakes conveys that the M sport package and the military precision contours of the bonnet are one of the many eye-catching components. ‘The 8’ comes as standard with LED headlights and they are by far best from their brand.
The rear end is also composed of sculptural surfaces that emphasize the car’s width and low centre of gravity. The slender all-LED rear light clusters that extend deep into the flanks add to this effect while also highlighting the wide shoulders.
Interior and equipment:
The transition between the instrument panel and door trim is made even smoother by the coordinated surface textures. The car’s wide centre console, which rises up towards the instrument panel at the front clearly separates the driver and front passenger areas. This is where all the control functions are partitioned in a clear structure.
The optional glass applications for selected controls add both visual and tactile highlights to the interior design. This exclusive design feature adorns the gear selector and the control buttons.
Engines, Transmission and BMW xDrive
Under the bonnet of the BMW M850i xDrive Coupe lies a 4.4-litre eight cylinder engine that has numerous details optimized with the two twin scroll turbo chargers that produces 530 hp. This specific model has the newly improved BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, which completes the all-round package.
The car boasts an innovative driver assistance that includes: assistance in slow-moving traffic, pedestrian detection, and night vision. The driver assistance system processes camera images and gathers data by ultrasonic and radar sensors to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings that gives warnings of potential hazards and minimizes the risk of accidents. The optional Driving Assistant Professional offers assistance for comfortable and safe driving.
The Parking Assistant’s range of functions also includes the Reversing Assistant, which helps the driver when exiting parking spaces and maneuvering within a confined space. The system assumes the task of steering when backing up by tracing the vehicle’s last forward movements in reverse.
For all of its enticing premium qualities, the new BMW 8 Series enters a curiously low-volume niche in the market. While nimbler, more agile sports cars deliver performance that’s more unrelenting (like Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and the aforementioned Porsche 911), pricier competitors from Aston Martin and Bentley offer flashier, plusher luxury.
