The Ajyal Film Festival 2019, organized by the Doha Film Institute (DFI) will officially open on the 18th of November. It will be a duration of 6 days, from the 18th November to 23rd November.
The opening of the festival will premiere with Palestinian director Elia Suleiman’s critically acclaimed film ‘It Must be Heaven’.
Throughout the festival, 96 films will be premiered from 39 countries. A variety of genres such as comedy, drama, animation and documentaries will be showcased at the festival.
This year, the festival focuses on the theme ‘Find Film, Find Life’ – to engage the audience to understand how influential and powerful films can be to various perspectives.
In addition to the films being screened at Katara, they will also be shown at Vox Cinemas at Doha Festival City and Nova Cinemas.
Reputable personalities will also be present at the festival, which include:

- Arab filmmakers Amjad Abu Alala and Oualid Mouness
- Visual artist Bouthayna al-Muftah
- Filmmaker Jason Silva
- Indian theatre actress, animator and film maker Gitanjali Rao
