1. KATARA BEACH

Katara beach is located right in the middle of the city. This beach in the Katara Cultural Village features one of the highest concentrations of water sports that Qatar has to offer.
This beach is 1.5 km long and is open to members and guests. The space offers a variety of activities, including fishing trips, parasailing, water skiing, wake-boarding, kneeboarding, and windsurfing, however, the water attractions are paid, an exception is made only for children under six, who can frolic for free on inflatable slides and trampolines.

2. SEALINE BEACH

Sealine Beach in Mesaieed is one of the most popular beaches in Qatar. Conveniently located less than 60 km south of Doha, Sealine Beach is a must-visit not just for expats and residents but even for those who are on a layover in Qatar. This free public beach is open to everyone and there are few restaurants, shops, and food kiosks around but you are free to also bring your own food.

3. UMM BAB

Umm Bab is a unique palm tree beach in the west of Qatar. From Doha, the capital of Qatar, to the village of Umm Bab is a modern highway, the road takes about two hours. There are no hotels near the beach of Umm Bab, more realistic is to spend a night in a tent right on the beach – especially if you are travelling in a group. The beach is ideal for camping with young ones because it has its own fenced beach area for families, toilets and kids’ playground, the water is shallow and the beach is very private.

4. AL MAROONA BEACH

This beach is also known as ‘French Beach’, located in the North-East part of Qatar, 80 kilometres from Doha. The sand of the beach is so soft with a golden colour and a big sea which has a warm temperature the thing that makes exploring sea life something amazing.
Take food and drinks with you—there are no refreshment outlets nearby.

5. SIMAISMA BEACH

Simaisma is a small seaside town located on the eastern coast of Qatar 30 km north of the capital Doha. This town is characterized by old houses and mosques that are relics from the days before oil and natural gas were discovered in Qatar. The beach offers restrooms, as well as shaded areas and playgrounds, and you will find food and drink shops in the village adjacent to the beach. It is a great place to enjoy quality time with your family, and have fun!

6. AL THAKHIRA BEACH

This beach isn’t exactly great for swimming but there is a play area for children. Much of the seashore is sabkha (salt flats) which becomes like quicksand and when it is wet it is really very treacherous as well as adventurous. This beach includes a number of sceneries: old shoreline, mangroves, outcrops, desert and much birdlife. The beach is very popular for exploring the area’s mangroves and well-liked by bird watchers.

7. ZEKREET BEACH

This beach is sandy in spots and covered in bits of crab and oyster shells in others. Bring water shoes if you’ll be wading in the surf and a sun umbrella for shade on the sand. A shallow shelf here makes the area safe for kids, but also means swimming near shore is not possible. It takes about 1 hour from Doha or 20 minutes from Dukhan on the western coast.

8. AL WAKRAH BEACH

Situated at a distance of 10 kilometres from Doha, Al Wakrah is fishing and pearling village. The beach here is wide and sandy. The beach is abuzz with locals and tourists who are looking for a breaking from the daily routine. The beach has three playgrounds, a volleyball pitch, a soccer pitch, toilets, showers and BBQ facilities. Wakra Family Beach is one of Qatar’s most favourite beaches. Due to the shallow waters, swimming at the sea is not recommended. The beach is far from the town of Wakrah—make sure you bring enough supplies of food and drink.

9. FUWAIRIT BEACH

Fuwairit Beach is one of the most accessible beaches in Qatar. The area’s sandy bays are perfect for picnics, but there are no facilities or restaurants nearby, so you will need to pack accordingly. Bear in mind that this is an isolated beach in the desert—take your own shade.

10. DUKHAN BEACH

Dukhan beach resort is a popular sandy beach to the north with shallow water. The beach is for free for the public to utilize. Although is open and free for the public, the beach is maintained clean. The water is not too deep so kids of all ages can play here. The beach is famous in the country for not only for a picnic spot but also for surfing and swimming.
