Cabinet Meeting: Suspension Of Medical Services In Private Health Facilities

H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting via video conferencing this afternoon.

As part of the COVID-19 precautionary measures, the Cabinet agreed to suspend services at private health facilities except in emergency situations. On Friday, April 2, 2021, the new decision will take effect.

At the start of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Public Health explained the latest developments regarding Qatar’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19, and the Cabinet reiterated the continuity of precautionary measures taken to tackle the epidemic and agreed the following:

  • Stopping medical services in private health facilities, except in emergency situations, and allowing these facilities to provide some medical services through modern communication methods.
  • This decision will take effect on Friday, April 2nd.
