Celebrating South African Heritage Day with Ubuntu Bash

Hosted by the South African Embassy, the South African Heritage Day Ubuntu Bash invites everyone to join the celebrations on the 15th of November at Doha Sports Park.

Heritage Day is an annual celebration that recognizes the cultural wealth of South Africa. The day will be marked with ‘Ubuntu Bash,’ a lively event that brings the community together with the traditions and culture of South Africa. Various events and activities are held to commemorate this day.

Ubuntu is a reference from the Nguni language that is often translated to “I am because we are,” which signifies the unity of South Africa.

To celebrate the occasion in Qatar, the Ubuntu Bash will host plenty of kids’ activities that include a cupcake decorating competition. Additionally, there will also be walking football, live entertainment, and a mystery box cooking competition with celebrity chef Jenny Morris!
