The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has announced that the Doha Metro Gold Line will be open to the public on November 21, 2019. The line extends from Ras Bu Abboud Station to Al Aziziyah Station.
The Gold line, which runs from east to west across Doha, includes 11 stations: Ras Bu Abboud, National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif, Msheireb, Bin Mahmoud, Al Sadd, Joaan, Al Sudan, Al Waab, Sport City and Al Aziziyah.
Gold Line operation timings will be the same as that of Red Line – Saturday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 11 pm and on Fridays from 2 :00 pm to 11:00 pm. Doha Metro users can switch between the Red Line and Gold Line at Msheireb Station.
According to MOTC, new routes will be allocated to the Metro Link Service in order to cover a vast area and to serve more neighborhoods adjacent to the stations. The Metro link service was introduced to transport passengers from neighboring areas to and from the Metro stations.
Doha Metro Link service has seen excellent response from the public since the launch of the Doha Metro network’s first line – Red Line.
