- Is it compulsory to download the Ehteraz application?
Yes, it is mandatory for residents & citizens to download and activate the Ehteraz application when leaving their homes. Most organizations and entities have made it compulsory to check customer’s Ehteraz application status before allowing entry.
- How to activate the Ehteraz application?
- Enter your phone number, QID number, QID expiry date or visa number.
- Enable the Bluetooth and the location services.
- Click on the “get verification pin”.
- Enter the OTP received by SMS.
- Your account will be activated.
- Can I download the Ehteraz app on my tablet/iPad?
Ehteraz application is compatible with Android and Apple users. Please ensure the software is up to date before downloading the application. For Apple users, Ehteraz app requires iOS 13.1 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. As for Android, it requires Android 5.0 and up.
- Why does the Ehteraz application always need Bluetooth and location services to be turned on?
Once you register on the app, a notification appears saying Bluetooth is needed for the application for coronavirus contract tracing with other users on the application simultaneously. The FAQ section on the website informs all registered users to turn on Bluetooth and have the app in the background while using their phone.
- I’m currently on a visitor visa in Qatar during the coronavirus travel ban. Can I register on the Ehteraz application?
Yes, the new Ehteraz application update allows Android users with visitor visas to enter their visa registration numbers and register on the app.
- What are the correct precautions to be taken when leaving the house?
- Download and register on the Ehteraz application. Carry the device which has the application.
- Wear a protective mask.
- Keep a social distance of 1.5meters – 2meters between yourself and others.
- During the first phase, what will be opening in Qatar?
The first phase of gradual opening of restrictions will begin on June 15th. During this, some mosques will be opened, malls will be opened with 30% capacity, private health centres with 40% capacity opening and limited parks will be opened for exercise (children below 12 years cannot enter).
- How do I register my National Address?
National Address can be registered electronically through the MeTrash2 mobile application or Ministry Of Interior web services. Follow these steps:
- Click the National Address icon on the home page of the app or website.
- Click Add National Address.
- Click Register/Inquire National Address.
- Fill up the form with details of your zone number, building, street, kahramaa, mobile and email address and click next.
- National Address Pledge will pop up, click continue.
- Your National Address is displayed. Now, click done.

- I can’t register my QID on the MeTrash2 application, as the message says my number is registered previously. What should I do?
MeTrash2 application requires mobile numbers registered to the Qatar ID/Residency permit. You can follow the instructions on this webpage to change your number and register it with your Qatar ID/Residency permit: click here.
- Can residents with expired Qatar ID’s (during the coronavirus travel ban) return and enter Qatar?
Yes, after the travel ban is lifted, expatriates/residents can return and enter Qatar, despite the expiry of their Qatar ID/Residency Permit. The Ministry Of Administrative Labour and Social Affairs approved and announced this decision.
- Can I renew my QID/Residency permit online?
Yes, the Metrash 2 application and MOI website offer electronic renewal services for QID/Residency permits. Follow these steps:
- Login to the MOI e-services portal or MeTrash2 application.
- Click on “Residency Services” then “Renew Residency”.
- Select the QID number to be renewed (maximum five numbers at a time).
- Choose the renewal period for the selected Residency Permit.
- Select the delivery option for the new residence permit.
- Pay the applicable fees.
