The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has published the calendar for the academic year 2020-21 for government schools.
School staff will return to schools for the academic year 2020-21 on 19th August 2020, according to the calendar which was announced by the Ministry on social media.
The 2019-20 second-round exams for the students of grades 1 to 12 (morning/adult education) will be held from 23rd to 31st August 2020. The first day of the 2020-21 academic year will be on 1st September 2020.
Midterm 1 exams for the students of grades 1 to 11 (morning) will be held from 20th – 29th October 2020.
As per the calendar, Term 1 final exams for grades 10, 11 and 12 students(morning/adult education) will be from 2nd to 13th December 2020.
Term 1 final exams for students of grades 1 to 9 (morning/adult education) will be held from 2nd to 10th December 2020. The midterm break will be from 20th to 31st December 2020.
Beginning of Term 2 is scheduled on 3rd January 2021.
Term 1 second-round exams for students of grades 1 to 11 (morning/adult education) will be from 19th to 28th January 2021.
Midterm 2 exams for students of grades 10 and 11 (morning) will be held from 2nd to 11th March 2021.
Midterm 2 exams for students of grades 1-9 (morning) will be from 3rd to 11th March 2021.
Midterm 2 break will be from 14th to 18th March 2021. Classes will resume after midterm 2 break on 21st March 2021.
Term 2 final exams for students of grades 10, 11 and 12(morning/adult education) will be from 30th May 2020 to 9th June 2021.
Term 2 final exams for students of grades 1-9 (morning/adult education) will be held 31st May 2021 to 8th June 2021. School staff holiday will be from 20th June 2021 to 19th August 2021. Second round exams for students of grades 1-12 (morning/adult education) will be held from 6th to 14th July 2021.
School staff will return to schools for the 2021-22 academic year on 22nd August 2021. The first day of the 2021-22 academic year will be 24th August 2021.
