Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry Of Interior (MOI), has called upon citizens and expatriate to stay at home during the vacations of Eid Al Fitr adhering strictly to preventive and precautionary measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.
“We citizens and expatriates should shoulder the collective responsibility to curb the spread of the coronavirus by suspending family visits and social gatherings during Eid holidays,” said Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah while talking to Qatar TV. He said that the police patrolling from Traffic Department, Lekhwiya and other security agencies of Al Shamal, Janoub and Al Rayan will be stationed at different places to educate people about the government decisions and enforce it to curb the spread of coronavirus. He said that people can call on 999 to inform about the gathering and other violations of the state preventive measures.
“The children are considered among the passengers in vehicles as the responsibility is collective so the children should not go out except in case of utmost need,” said Al Muftah. He said that as per the preventive measures, not going out of home is required at present and throughout the vacations of Eid Al Fitr.
“The preventive and precautionary measures are implemented to protect the community from the infection of COVID-19,” said Al Muftah. He said that under the preventive measures, decisions were issued to suspend some least necessary commercial activities to stop the people from going out of the homes except in case of utmost need during Eid Al Fitr holidays.
“It is the collective responsibility of all people to adhere strictly to the preventive and precautionary measure to curb the spread of COVID-19, the violation from any individual will affect negatively on the efforts,” said Al Muftah. He said that social distancing is required during this Eid Al Fitr and suspension of visits and social gathering is essential to curb the spread of the epidemic.
