The Ministry of Public Health opened Labseer Field Hospital in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense. Labseer Field Hospital is a new 504-bed field hospital to support the existing coronavirus hospitals. The Labsear field hospital located near Al Shahaniya- Dukhan Road has already started receiving patients. It has all modern facilities and is manned by 70 staff members out of which 20 are doctors.
The hospital consists of three building and has 504 single rooms with attached bathrooms. The hospital, which will treat expatriates men, already has around 100 patients who are recovering and are in stable condition said Dr Abdullah Rasheed Al Naimi, Clinical Lead of the hospital, during a media tour of the facility. The tests for suspected cases of COVID-19 will be at the field hospital, but the medical analyses will be done in the Cuban Hospital.
This is the second field hospital Qatar has opened recently. A few days back a 200-bed field hospital with a dedicated area for coronavirus care opened for the workers in the Industrial Area.
Dr Abdullah Al-Nuaimi said that healthcare teams, with guidance and close supervision of Her Excellency the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, are working diligently to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and protect Qatar’s population.
