The new working hours and holidays for schools in the country for the next four academic years are changed, according to the official website by the Ministry of education and Higher Education.
The changes were made by the ministry after HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi considered the report by a committee that was designated for studying and amending the academic calendar from the year 2019-2020 to the year 2022-2023.

These holidays are in addition to the mid-year and mid-semester holidays. The amendment has given an annual leave of 80 days for teachers.
The average number of schooling days in these academic years has been changed to 185 as per the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) education standards.
The amendments, according to the website, were made by considering the needs and development of the educational sector in the country.
