Opening Of Qatar E-Sports Wega Global Game 2020

Qatar is expanding its journey into the exciting eSports entertainment field. Qatar to open Qatar E-Sports Wega Global Game for all the virtual game lovers on January 16th, 2020.

The eSports is a multiplayer video game played by the players. The global eSports competition in Qatar will take place over 3 years from 2020 to 2022. It aims to create the most innovative eSports programme which is open to everyone willing to play.

For this first edition, the Global Games are a unique multi games competition featuring CSGO, DOTA2, Street Fighter V, and eFootball PES series. The programme includes four big moments: the Grand Ceremony DOHA at Khalifa International Stadium on the 16th of January 2020, the WEGA Champions™ on March 2020, followed by a worldwide online competition starting September 2020, the QATAR Esports WEGA Global Games™, and the Global Games Great Final™ December 2020.

A Show-Stopping Live event will take place on January 16 at the iconic Khalifa Stadium to officially announce the launch of the Qatar eSports Wega Global Games in presence of some of the biggest E-Athletes. The opening ceremony is to witness performances, entertainment, and talks from game-based influencers. There will be also a 20-min theatrical immersive show for the first time ever in Doha including VR & AR technologies.

Fans and players are invited to the Official Global Games Grand Ceremony, to celebrate Esports and to enjoy the world of gaming. After launching the QATAR Esports WEGA Global Games™ edition 2020 it will continue in 2021 and 2022.

The best players/teams will be awarded a range of prizes including cash. The Global Games Worldwide online competition allows the best gamers/teams to qualify for the Great Final in December 2020 in Doha.
