On Tuesday, the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani paid a two-day official visit to Vienna to strengthen relations between Austria and Qatar. The Amir had met with the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen. They had witnessed the signing ceremony of two memorandums of understanding (MoU) at the Chancellery in Vienna.
The bilateral parties have joined together to discuss the methods on how to boost aspects in various sectors, such as economy, trade, technology and investment. The overall relations between the two countries have been continuously expanding throughout the fields of sports, finance, real estate, tourism and culture. There are also several Austrian-based organizations involved in the projects preparing the 2022 World Cup, therefore enhancing the economic ties between the two nations.
The first MoU was signed between Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs of Austria, focusing on the improvement of economic and trade relations. The second MoU was made agreed between Qatar’s National Tourism Council and the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism in Austria, that aims to advance in the field tourism for both countries.
