The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management made new announcements stating preventive and precautionary measures by Qatar against the spread of coronavirus:
- Industrial area roads from Street No. 1 to Street No. 32 will be closed for 2 weeks. This decision comes as a safety measure after discovering a number of positive cases for coronavirus in the area, who are subject to quarantine.
- All retail shops and bank branches in the commercial complexes, shopping centres and malls, with the exception of grocery stores and pharmacies, must be closed temporarily.
- All men and women salons, until further notice, will be closed and all home services provided by the salons must be stopped.
- Health clubs and gyms in hotels, according to the circulars issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, should be closed until further notice.
“MOPH urges all citizens and residents to apply preventive measures to protect against infection and to contact the ministry’s Coronavirus call centre for the latest information regarding the virus using the toll-free phone number (16000).” MOPH posted on their Twitter account.
