In a Cabinet meeting held on 22nd April 2020, Qatar announced the official working hours for government and private sectors during the holy month of Ramadan.
After the Cabinet meeting it was announced that the official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1441 AH will be:
- The government sector is four hours per day, starting from 9 am until 1 pm.
- The private sector is six hours a day, starting from 9 am until 3 pm.
- The stores for food supplies, pharmacies and restaurants that do delivery services and the contracting sector are excluded from the application of this decision. The Ministry of Trade and Industry, in coordination with the relevant authorities, shall determine the other necessary activities exempted from this decision.
“The Council of Ministers decides that the official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1441 AH for employees and workers in the government sector will be 4 hours per day starting from nine in the morning until one in the afternoon and in the private sector 6 hours per day, starting from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon.” Qatar News Agency tweeted.
