Qatar qualified for the 2021 World Men’s Handball Championship by reaching the semi-finals of the Asian Men’s Handball Championship, following their 31-25 victory over Iran in Kuwait yesterday.
Qatar, winners of the last three editions, defeated South Korea in their first Main Group 2 clash and will face host Kuwait in their last group match.
All of the semi-finalists of Kuwait event will qualify for the 2021 World Men’s Handball Championship to be held in Egypt.
Meanwhile, in Group 1 matches yesterday, UAE overcame Saudi Arabia 23-20 after a close contest while Japan prevailed over Bahrain 25-23.
In Placement Group 3, Iraq collected full points after an impressive 31-26 victory over Australia while Hong Kong defeated China 32-27.
