Qatar’s retail sector boosted by Eid shopping

During Eid Al Adha, Qatar has seen residents rush into malls, hypermarkets and restaurants. This has increased the sentiments in the retails of the country. Sales were increasing and the demands were observed to be highly for travel related goods.

Furthermore, Qatar recently removed the mandatory hotel quarantine for travellers. This has significantly increased sales in the country. From July 12 onwards, the new travel policy stated that hotel quarantine was not needed for fully vaccinated individuals.

As schools reopen, it is expected the customer demand and sales to rise due to the “Back to School” campaign.

In general, the easing of COVID-19 restrictions has allowed the customer demand in retail to be increasing at a constant rate.

Retail sector experts noted that compared to super-regional malls, regional, community malls as well as unorganised related spaces improved slowly.
