This morning, Thursday, December 26, 2019, in Doha, Qatar we’ve experienced what its called to be an “Annular Solar Eclipse”. With a duration of 1 hour and 33 minutes.
In Doha, Qatar specifically we are unable to see the annual phase of this solar eclipse, however, it is possible to observe that there is a partial solar eclipse. This is when the Moon is closest to the center of The Sun and The Sun is close to the horizon.
With that being said, it’s best encouraged to not have looked at the solar eclipse with naked eyes as it can cause you to have “eclipse blindness” or retinal burns. This is caused because the exposure to the light creates damage or even destroys cells in the back of the eye which transmits what you see to the brain.
