South African Heritage Day Celebrations

Heritage Day is a public holiday in South Africa that celebrates the diverse heritage, traditions, culture, and beliefs. It takes place on the 24th of September every year. It is known as Braai Day or Shaka Day.

On Heritage Day, Braai plays a very significant role, and it means ‘barbecue’ in Afrikaans. Braai Day is to recognize the culinary tradition of informal backyard BBQs. It is the perfect occasion for friends and family to come together and enjoy the delicacies of Braai.
