The Government Communications Office (GCO) released a statement on their official Twitter account stating Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairperson of the Education Above All Foundation and UN Sustainable Development Advocate, called for a resolution at the UN General Assembly to establish 9th September as the International Day To Protect Education From Attack. The resolution was adopted by the UN declaring 9th September as ‘International Day To Protect Education From Attack’.
“The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution establishing September 9 as the International Day to Protect Education From Attack. The resolution was called for by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of EAA_Foundation and UN SDGs advocate, and spearheaded by Qatar.” GCO tweeted.
