Qatar’s International Medical Devices and Healthcare Exhibition Officially Opens

25 March 2019, Doha, Qatar– Her Excellency DR Hanan Al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health for the State of Qatar, opened today Qatar’s International Medical Devices and Health Exhibition (QMED) for the second Edition, in a ribbon cutting ceremony that was attended by VIPs and notable figures from the local and international medical sectors.

The opening was attended by several Ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar.

QMED is an annual Medical and Health Exhibition organised by Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences. The event is held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from 25 to 27 March 2019.

This year’s Edition of QMED is supported by the Qatar National Tourism Council, Qatar Diabetes Association, and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce. Exhibition sponsors also include Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM) and Ooredoo, as Main Strategic Sponsors; Naufar Hospital and Sharq Medical Supply as Diamond Sponsors; Germin MED and Aljazeera Medical Group as Gold Sponsors, Qatar Free Zone Authority and Qatar Red Crescent as Silver Sponsors; and Boom Waste Treatment as Bronze Sponsor.

Mr Khalifa Al Mohannadi of Sogha Exhibitions & Conferences, said: “QMED has succeeded in attracting a number of VIP’s and leading names in the international and local healthcare sector, thus quickly establishing itself as an ideal platform for knowledge-transfer and discussions around the healthcare industry, latest technical innovations, and sharing best practices in the medical field.”

In its second Edition, QMED brings more than 40 exhibitors from countries including Qatar, Turkey, the United States, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Kingdom all in Doha to showcase the latest technologies in the medical sector.

Mr Omar Hussain Alfardan, President & CEO of Alfardan Group, said: “This is the first time we are participating as Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine’s (AMNM) at QMED. AMNM had a condensed line-up of symposia covering a range of pressing medical issues on the opening day. On 26 March, Reviva Medical Services will also cover a series of topics related to various new therapy technologies, and in parallel, Naufar Hospital will talk all about addiction as a disease and proven methods of treatment.

QMed continues until 27 March daily at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
